Look how he's holding out towards the camera. I've had seven pounders that looked as big as that.

That gives me an idea.
I'm going off now to have a pair of prosthetic hands made which I shall mount on some stout poles. When I next catch a barbel, any barbel, I shall balance it on my 'hands', stand seven or eight feet behind it, hold it out at poles' length, get the photo taken by one of my 'witnesses' and claim the record Mark. |

I think when you've caught the numbers of big fish that someone like Tony Davies-Patrick has from a multitude of venues and countries worldwide and over such a protracted period of his life you'll have earned the right to take the pi$$, until then perhaps you should give the guy some credit for his achievements.
How many 30lb barbel have you caught? |

JohnZZZ Lighten up mate. We're all dead jealous really. It's just that some of us release our frustration through humour. I'm sure Mr. Globetrotter would see the funny side especially when he realises it is humerously linked to another thread on the forum.

Great news - The hands look great. They made them extra small thus avoiding that awful 'sausage finger' thingy you get going on when trying to swerve an eight past the adjudicators.
Seriously. ATB Mark. |

Hi Canebender,
Thank you very much for this link - words cannot do this justice, but looking at every photo (1-81) - truly inspirational fishing. The fish, the landscape moods, range of ecosystems. Just imagine spending just a little of the time shadowing an angler like this. I have the ambition in the next three years travelling around europe in a van for at least a couple of years, six months in Nepal & three months on the St Lawrence River in Canada - these chaps just show us what can be achieved... Cheers, Jon |

Dear all,
Awesome fish caught by Mr T-D-P! Mindblowing stuff! I was just in awe at that 4lb roach.... Then the humongous 30lb+ Comizo's.... Dream fishing. Regards, Joe. |
