Im looking at replacing my all in one thermal suit for a two piece suit, as i do alot of roving along the river severn i find that on the milder of winter days the all in one kills me! ive lost a stone by the time ive got back to the car . I have looked at several on the market and am now unsure of which one would be the best. My current one piece is a Ron Thompson and i have to say for the money has been brilliant. so this is currently my first choice on the two piece, i have also looked at the system 6 by Ron thompson anyone tried this yet? Other brands i have looked are ESP and Prologic please let me know your thoughts on these or other brands Thanks Tony

If you are going to be doing a lot of bank walking then investing in good hiking gear and utilising a layer system might be better. The Sundridge gear is better suited to a more static approach. Do some research here before you buy: www.outdoorsmagic.com/ A cheaper alternative can be found here: www.transworldsurplus.co.uk/ I bought some camo shells some years back and they are both extremely waterproof, tough and light. Try the British Army Goretex Trousers plus a CEC Camo Wet Weather Jacket at £80 delivered. Bloody good value over layers of thermals and a fleece.

I got a sleepskin system free with mine (couple of years back mind) and that is the absolute business when it gets proper nippy

You can get the jacket, bib n brace AND hot foot field boots for less than £140 from several online shops. Just do a search for: Sundridge and "arctic edge"

Been looking at the nash windcheetah smock which looks good - any other suggestions?

My problemn is that I am 6ft 4" tall, slim with long arms & legs. I have tried on some wychwood gear in XL but the legs & sleeves are too short. If I go for XXL there is room for one more inside as these are clearly designed for guys with XXL waistlines. Are there any other anglers out there with this problem and, more importantly, have they found a solution? Cheers Steve

Two years ago I bit the bullet and bought a made to measure specimen bib & brace from Halkon Hunt. Expensive........however the quality and fit is great, keeps me warm as toast and hopefully it should last for years. Paul

The jacket is great really comfuntable and theres loads of room. I havnt tried the bib and brace yet. But these are credabily value for money.

Can't remember the price, but it looked a good bit of kit. For me, the Garlands stuff has proved unbelievably warm (especially the trousers) and so has my TFG coat. I also have the Wychwood stuff (entire SPD range) any it is superb. Still, I am going to be getting some army surplus Goretex gear, as IMO, it is the very best for waterproofness, toughness and comfort. Regards, Joe.

Brilliant. Igloo suit is awesome for 150 quid but VERY heavy and impossible to walk anywhere in with the liner fixed .

If you want something for stalking then you should think walking, and visit the outdoor shops, their stuff is designed for walking in. Do your homework and learn all you can on layering and then buy in the sales, (after Christmas), if you can. The rambling fraternity are as susceptible to the vagrancies of the fashion industry as the rest of society and the boring, unfashionable colours always sell last, so if you dont mind dull browns, greys or greens you could bag yourself a bargain. Good and expensive,Berghaus Cornice (long version). Oh and a U.S. military poncho for really rough nights !
