And if you do, I don't suppose you know of anywhere that I can get some brass stud or bolts from to go in it?
Thanks in advance.

B.S.F.= British Standard Fine.
A thread form based upon the British Standard Whitworth form but with a finer thread. This thread form was first introduced in 1908, the thread form is specified in BS 84: 1956. (Thank You Google) |

How about HERE?
Not sure if this is what you are looking for but they do 3/8" x 3/4" BSF chrome bolts for 98p. Probably cheaper to go down your local hardware store tho.. |

Ok, it's my turn to show my ignorance now, so what is W.B.C.? I'm guessing it's got nothing to do with the world boxing council.

Titus,
I'm surprised you haven't heard of the W.B.C. It's mostly known as "Wally's Bream Circus" as we fish the Thames a lot. But you can call us the Windsor Barbel Catchers. John from the light

Be careful if you buy "bolts" as per that web site. There may be a chance that strictly speaking you should buy "machine set screws".
The difference being that a bolt has a non-threaded portion under the head, but a set screw has the thread all the way up. |

Try any standard Ironmongers, failing that any millwrights shop.(I believe that you only get Millwrights shops up North) Your 3rd try, being E.Bay.Set screws will do, its the thread that matters..
BSF bolts aren"t that common these days. If you can get a die, and a tap with it ,they will be worth their weight in gold in years to come.I have a pair, and believe me, if you make your own gear, you cannot do without them. David. |
