Most of my Barbel fishing requires a fairly instant bait. Whilst experimenting I had little or no success with a couple of JB mixes (F&F and Krunch), so reverted back to my trusty Mainline baits mixes
Also think I heard somewhere that JB has packed it in due to ill health? Neil |

I say never rule anything out when it comes to trying new baits for fishing.
I have caught barbel on Bakers complete dog mix, they are moist but will dry out quickly if left out in daylight. Also work well when dry for carp on the surface. Bakers, same family? |

Sorry to make u struggle for good answers, but I spent £52 on John Baker's products, caught stuff all. Spent £2 on bakers dog biscuits caught carp and barbel. Personally I'd invest in something else. Granted there will anglers who do well on it, but I think some who do bait heavily. There are plenty of baits out there with quicker and cheaper results.
Hope you find what you are looking for. Ken |

i use john bakers products for 1 year now and my results were a little slow to start with but now played around with it and some of his other products and bang the results to this season have been instant and there are many people who slate but once you get a lttle edge that works you are off
the edge is ? im sure most people will be the same |

John, I see by your profile we share the same hobbies.
When you say you played with it, what do you mean? Adding something else? In which case it them becomes a different product. My theory is - Adverts catch Anglers. Natural baits catch fish. |

Quote: People often spend ages messing around with additives/flavour levels in their base mixes, so i doubt anyone will be willing to give away their hard work (and money to mess about with the baits!) so freely. I personally always hear of some people using these baits (I.E - they seem to get rave reviews in the mags) with great success, but speaking to people whom i have fished with/actually know, they have never really experienced any great success using baits from the J.B stable. Still, that's not to say they are a bad bait - perhaps they didn't find 'the' mix, or they didn't apply it properly or for long enough....? Dunno. |
