Started my season with powerpro mainline 16lb approx (cant remember exactly) and powerpro 8lb hooklenghts. Got fed up with constant wrap ups around the rod tip and around the swivel, so have reverted to 12lb mono reel line with the same braid hooklinks. Still getting the hookink winding around the swivel which I think cost me a fish last night when the hooklink parted in the middle, probably weakened from the constant unravelling whilst fishing.
My questions are:
Would a coated braid reduce the tangles, or maybe some shrink tube or similar?
When using coated braid, I understand you have to strip the coating in order to knot to the hook, does it work ok using the "KK" for hair rigs, I don't find braid that easy to put the stop into the loop at night.
Thanks,
Phil
