Hi all,
Definately 50mm+. Meat fishing in flood conditions ! Funny, will happily use huge baits in floods, but not in clear water ! Cheers Paul M........ |

If that's the biggest then perhaps Derek ought to stop worrying about his rigs!

I am intrigued Derek, you must have the patience of a saint to sit there and drill those little fella's out.
What type of hooklink do you use? |

Had one tonight on 1/3 of a large tin of luncheon meat in clear conditions Anyone tried the new Mattesons Hot and Spicy Smoked Pork Sausage - I had three bites on it tonight 3 inch long section - didnt connect with any of then unfortunately - need to work on the resistance setup. Cheers

Matteson's Garlic Sausage is another good bait when things go a little quiet Graham!
Most meat products fished in outragous sizes 'will' do the trick it seems, fish really dont care how large the piece is! |

For anyone that,s interested, check out a picture of mine in the Gallery (very Vision On !), in the Wye section,Scene section entitled "Proper Job". The one with the big ball of paste next to a swimfeeder.
I,ve actually gone a fair bit bigger than that with meat baits, in a coloured river or at night in optimum conditions. Once your confident in big baits, you,re laughing ! Time spent in recconnaissance is seldom wasted......

Regularly use 1/2 big tin of meat in the winter/floods. The bites aren't subtle either. No little knocks or plucks, just crash straight round.I fish it straight on the hook, not on a hair.
Lawrence Breakspeare used the same method many years ago on the Severn & Teme and had some outstanding fish. |

Personally I don't always go for the option of bigger baits. The 20-30 mm does me fine.
