John
Well done on your new PB. Two hours recovery time is a very long time however, which would really worry me. I'm not intending to be critical or personal here but my guess is that you didn't rest it in the net straight after landing it and before unhooking, photographing and weighing it. If this is the case, can I suggest you try this next time. In fact, the longer you rest it in the net beforehand, the easier it will be to return when you are ready and the more enjoyable the experience of catching it will be. Good luck. |

John,
congrats agian on the PB (Both of them). You really shouldn't thank me, all I did was take you to the river. you still had to catch the fish so all I can say is top angling. Re the recovery of the double. we did rest her, while we set up camera scales etc. All of the other fish recovered very quickly. It was very strange as she looked a fit good conditioned fish. while she was being rested initially seemed very lively. It was almost like she had some air trapped as she wouldn't go down in the water, also it seemed to be a reaction to being handled as she went dosile when this happend. Has anyone else had these experiences? Just to add when she did get out of arms reach she kicked away strongly across a good flow, we had a mate in chesties positioned about 20 yards downstream in case she came back up but happy to say we never saw her again. This is the first time anything like this has happend to me. the water was good paced and cool so we are left bemused as to why this one particular fish took so long to recover, age possibly? Really well done John. Really great to read of another PB coming as a result of a friendship made through BFW. Fair play to you as well Andy.
