If anyone has the time to give me some advice on possible waters and clubs in the Kent/Sussex areas it would be much appreciated. Currently staying in the Canterbury area, but will be moving into permanent accomodation in Horsmonden near Tunbridge Wells in the next month. Thanks Paul

Posts: 1281 (14/06/06 14:18) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Paul, Kent and Sussex are a bit thin on the ground with barbel but you have a few options. The Kentish or Great Stour around Canterbury holds quite a few fish. Canterbury and District or Mid Kent Fisheries control most of the known areas. The Medway has a spread of fish concentrated below Tunbridge Wells but the two clubs I know of may well be both full at the minute. They are Royal Tunbridge Wells ( RTWAS ) and Bromley. You need to contact Ron Mott for RTWAS but I havent got details with me. There are fish down as far as Maidstone but if anyone knows where they are keeping very quiet. One or too tributaries have small heads of fish as well. Also within an hour or so you could probably make the Lea at Fishers Green ( RMC ) and Sussex Ouse. Apart from Barbel youll be near Wintons for the Cats, Bewl Water for Pike and Furness Ponds at Horsemonden for Big Perch and Mid Kent fisheries have got some of the biggest carp known to man in their waters.

John - with regards to Bewl water, who controls this or is it a day ticket venue. I presume the Pike season on Bewl starts in October? Secondly - Is Furnace pond a syndicate water?
