I want to get a decent barbel rod and reel or 2 which are also ok for other fishing forms, but don't want to break the bank, any recommendations? I've also just purchased a okuma aventa pro cenerpin, I've always wanted a pin and this looked good, anyone used one before? Dave

Both good budget bit's of kit IMO. rod's £60ish reel's £30ish . Scaz

Ok, I'll calm down I have 5 now. I've said it before and I'll say it again...I have a Leslies Insight RB and the Nash X-Lite which both cost about £170 each. I prefer the cheap Nashies (Elites) each and every time. That's not to say the other rods are @#%$ - no. But value for money the cheaper rods are too cheap for the quality you are getting. Get them while you can, they have been discontinued I believe and won't hang around for long at £40 each. They balance out well with 5000 series Shimanos too. Gary SKYPE me - bb king or bfw_bbking

Do you think that they (Nash Elites) can compare to the Harrison blanks..? Just wondering as i have a couple of rods built on Harrison blanks and so far i've yet to find anything that can really match up to them in any way i.e. balance, action, weight e.t.c. Just curious to your thoughts really as i'm thinking about getting one of the Nashies seeing as they're going at £40! Sorry to go off topic there folks. Oh yeah, best barbel gear. For me, any Harrison blank for a rod, or a Shimano for a reel. With respect....
