How many rods do you fish? |
Lead | |
|
I only fish the one as the river i fish is quite narrow, do you think fishing two is an advantage or more hassle than its worth ie tangles when playing fish at night , i also think the less lines in the water less chance of fish spooking .Your views or advice plz.

I would personally ONLY use one rod on pretty much all rivers as the ones i fish tend to be smaller and i prefer to hold the rod touch legering.
I would consider using two on a bigger river like the Thames, Severn or the Trent but would probably stick with one though i understand why people use 2 rods on these venues though i would think that it could be classed as irresponsible if 2+ rods are used on smaller rivers.... |

It's usually just the one for me, for similar reasons to joe. Mind you, i'll only fish one rod even on a big river like the wye. It's prolific enough for the possibility of two fish on at a time and though i've managed it in the past, it is very hit and miss.

I find that using two rods gives you the chance of a double hook up which is always interesting.

Yep, Thread started July ended September - only 6 pages ago and not even in the FAQ yet
It's here New and recently joined posters may not be familiar yet with the previous pages and the FAQs, so may I remind that there is a hell of a lot of good stuff there - but not to say that new stuff isn't welcome too paul4 |

As I think about it though alot of the time when I use 2 rods I fish one upstream one downstream.
