Intending on cutting down what I take fishing, so that I can do a bit more roving - will be taking essentials only. When the weather is wet I will wear waterproofs, and leave my brolly at home. The thing is I quite often use PVA. If it is chucking it down how am I going to prepare my PVA bags/sticks? Any tips? Thanks Paul |

If you was using an oil based pellet like elips would the oil that is obsorbed by the pva cause, cause the bag to brake down.
I know when using pva web, it goes brown fast ie elip colour, due to this would the oil cause a pocket full of pellets and pva gunk!!!!!! Happened to anyone? Thanks Warren 001 dont just talk about it, DO IT.

Fear not! PVA is not broken down by oils either from elips or any other pellet. Oil based favours are often used as 'glugs' to actually slow down the break down times of PVA too. Regards Daz...  |

I've been trying to travel light lately and have a bought a superb Greys GTX Fly Vest. It's indispensible.
It's a shame I still need to carry a digital SLR, separate flsh, Fox scales and a weigh sling. I need one of those Canon G6's! ------------------------

without doubt to travel light on our chosen quest and to defy gravity and feel lighter, what you require is a bivvy?????????? fill it with helium............ it is like Redbull it gives you wings Dave... |

As said prepare them at home and pop them into a bait box.
Any you don't use either use for prebaiting or freeze. Cheers

Dear Blackheart,
I deduce from your post that you have succumbed to peer pressure and are falling in line with the keepnet ban. I though that you were a stronger character than that.  Travel light - make up your PVA at home and take with you as many as you think you will need in a seesion carried in a strong large size freezer bag. The large size will allow you to twist-tie to prevent ingress of damp. Travel lighter - buy a smaller bag! Seems daft but it does work. Here's something to try - next session take a plastic carrier bag with you. The items that you use during the session put back in your current bag inside the carrier bag. When you get home, empty the carrier bag and see how little you used. Now buy a bag big enough for just those bits and enjoy the freedom. Gary |

ive just about sussed this travel light lark,have a fishrite extremelite chair and in it i pack a pafex net,small telescopic bankstick and my unhooking mat,the bankstick goes into a chairmate which is on the chair (see classifieds in this weeks at -davies angling)and is able to be put straight out front or up in the air and a bucket for bait (medium bfw black bucket)in here is some pva bags made up with pellets a pack of boilies and a small fox box with glue and boilie stops in,two rig boards with 10 rigs on and a load of bits in my pockets,if i am not wearing a coat then the stuff goes in a chub snooper bag.oh i almost forgot a rod as well made up obviously.
i can walk for miles like this on the teme but when i'm on the trent its a different story as i tend to use two rods so the quiver comes into action and the bedchair and the bivvy and the sleeping bag and the pod and the alarms and the 110ltr rucksack and a barrow to carry it all ...phew! |
