What's your favourite 'alternative' hookbait? |

By this, I mean stuff other that boilies, pellets and luncheon meat. Some may even consider lobworm as alternative. I know I only usually use them as a change bait if pellet fails me.
I reckon the weirdest bait I've ever fished with and caught on has been a big fat yellowy grub I found on the bank. It netted me a lively 5 pounder! |

Worms all the way.I love them.Tipped with a little rubber caster to stop them wriggling of Barbless Hooks,that we have to use on some waters.Or great big bunches in floods.
But now I have to buy them  Coverd the grass in the back garden with concrete,over the weekend.Twas the Wakka thread that convinced me.  Regards Jason "The Beer and Bath Man"

Have best results when absolutely confident in first choice bait. Doubts do creep in after a couple of blanks, but being a stubborn so and so, will wait for between 5 and 10 blanks before changing baits!

A bit of cheese, a meatball, some corn or bread flake. Caught barbel on all of em.
