Well nearlyas the barbel definitely didn't want to play.
Last night was an example. Water temperature of 6.7, air temperature of 9.8 after the snow earlier in the week surely they MUST come out to play but apart from one stray that made a mistake.
Early February. Water temperature of nearly 10 and air temp of 15. Not a sniff apart from a large chub that is. Again earlier in the week we had snow.
The only reason I can come up with for the dire fishing was road salt that had found it's way into the river.
The odd thing is that I have never noticed such an absolute disinterest from barbel given huge temperature rises before.
Anyone else have any thoughts ?
Andy
