Del. I think it is a club that you have to be voted on to be able to join.
As the old comic GM said....I wouldn't join any club that would have me as a member.! I believe they do have a very nice stretch of water around the Twyford area though. Graham |

I know the stretch you mean Del, and as Graham says you have to be in the know to join mate.
A club I'm a member of tried to do an exchange of tickets some time ago. It's not the sort of thing they do. John |

What's wrong with the London Anglers Association (LAA), if it's a London club you are after, they have miles of various rivers including the Ouse.

whats wrong with the LAA,only my opinion as havent been in the club for a few years, but was once an LAA bailiff and found i was the only person doing any work on my fishery,a lake at brampton.nice place to fish for tench, had some good early morning sessions there, but 9.0 clock up rolled two coaches and eighty bleeding noisey matchmen flooded the banks, and even at thier swims, were calling across the lake to each other. The LAA lost the lakes at little Paxton because of damage done by members, and lost my fave bit of the kennet at Thatchem because of members discarded nylon.
The pits at frogmore are a disgrace(litter everwhere)and similar at hemingford Gray. The LAA stretches of the ouse are mainly the slower bream holding areas, dont think they have anything above Bedford, but they do have the river Avon at Britford. regards howard |

I have belonged to the LAA for more years than I can remember I have to confess not knowing about these lost fisheries. I must say that the Britford fishery on the Avon is a very well managed fishery due to the resident Bailiff (Stuart) who maintains the fishery to a very high standard. I cannot say in 40 years I have fished another LAA water other than Britford.

Allen, have never fished Britford, but have heard it is a brilliant
fishery.the Laa have some very good venues, but unfortunately all the ones i loved, got ruined one way or another. The main thing in favour of the LAA is the large amount of water they have,in different areas, ranging from britford,to the Thames, and then towards the east up to the Stour, and above in fenland on the wissey. They actually own a large meadow on the ouse near huntingdon, called portholme, but mostly they seem to cater for matchmen, again on the Ouse they have a large stretch at ten mile bank, for lovers of bream, pike and zander, also they used to have, and still may have part of the lea. regards howard |
