8 oz Mature Cheddar
4oz Frozen Pastry mix 4oz Danish blue 2ml Blue Cheese Flavour,or whatever takes your fancy(counteracts the blandness of the pastry) I also normally use a little colouring in powder form usually orange,sometimes red or black. HOWEVER,this is a mix I use in winter time,I don't use cheese paste in warmer weather,but if you do, I think you will have to substitute breadcrumb or breadpaste for the pastry otherwise it will be running everywhere.

my cheesepaste is really simple to make i just mix flour and water together with a little bit of olive oil until you get a ball of dough like substance.
Add some salt about a teaspoons worth, it does something to the gluten in the flour and makes the dough very elastic. then just add loads of cheese.... grated chedder, blue stilton,some sloppy cheese like brie and loads and loads of parmesan. this paste lasts forever and gets better with age i freeze it after every session and have had no problems with it drying out. it is just about the best chub bait I've ever used. mix up some stilton flour and water for a paste
one of the old boys i knew used to swear by flour paste with custard powder- for carp chainy |

Ahh. Flour paste and custard powder!
I remember as a kid being sent to bed early because I had used all the custard powder when my mother tried to make custard for dinner  Used to catch all my fish using that, but then again I only had 10p worth of maggots and bread is too valuable for sandwiches when your young

Hi
When I was a kid fishing in the Thames in Oxford we always used to use breadpaste( all we could afford).We swore by mixing it in a cloth which which had plenty of windolene on it.Probably didn't do the fish much good though. A lot of you may Know about the sturgeon fishermen on the Coumbia river in Oregon using WD40 on their bait.I saw this years and think it has been mentioned in the press over here.Strange eh!
