Posts: 411 (19/05/03 18:39) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None I was going to go on the taff tomorrow to try for trout on the fly or spinner as its allowed at the moment. however a reliable source said that he was by the river today and saw a guy in a wax hat aged about forty fishing with a quivertip and a lump of meat. is this a trout bait ? i dont think so. So mystery man if u are reading this dont take the pi** you are giving us a bad name. you were lucky i wasnt the one that spotted you as you would have been reported and i would have had the bailiff there within ten mins. I might start taking strolls along the river in the near future

Posts: 115 (19/05/03 21:14) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I have been fishing for over 20 years mainly on the thames,( as it is on my door step) in all this time i have been ascked for my licence twice both times on comercial carp waters never on the thames, even when weir fishing the lock keepers have shown little intrest, this dose not incorage you to buy a licence.

One angler said that he rang the EA and they were on the spot within half an hour and dealt with it. Chris Plumb on another thread also said they responded within a short time to his call and actually arrested 4 anglers on the Kennet. So..ring the EA. (bear in mind that certain trout fishing, worm and spinners I believe, from a boat is allowed on the Thames) Graham

Posts: 950 (19/05/03 21:24) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Graham It makes me wonder Re: Below Dave 4 5 weeks back whilst walking the Taff around the brook area witnessed 3 men openly fishing with feeders, maggots (ect) did report the incident to the E A but could not hang around to find out outcome. Did not have the clubs bailiff number with me at the time as this has changed since last time I needed to use it. However bit disappointed that having left my name, address and telephone number with the E A that no one contacted me to let me know what the outcome was if indeed they even bothered to turn up. Read the thread on river reports, Kennet and see what happened in the case Chris mentioned. Personally I would drop a letter to say Anglers Mail, asking the question. It works like a rocket often, and you will get a response then. Shame on them..in that case. Graham

But as I stated did/could not hang around so couldnt be sure that the EA did not follow up the incident so therefore feel they should be given the benefit of the doubt this time. Cheers Malcolm

The first call got a response within twenty minutes. The "manager" phoned me and asked for specific details and a few other general questions. He assured me a bailiff would put in an apperance. Subsequently they have phoned me twice to inform me that they are now monitoring the situatiopn and have included the area on the regular bailif patrol. Nick
