When you join, do you get the latest issue of the mag or do you have to wait for the next one?
And can you get back issues?
The recent thread on contributions from BFW'ers has got me interested!
Cheers,
Dave

I'd ask these on their forums but you have to be a member...

Hi Dave,
The BS membership year starts from June 16th. No matter when you join, you will receive two magazines before your membership expires. Apart from the first three issues which are like gold dust, past magazines are still available although the earlier ones are getting low on numbers. Look forward to seeing your name on an article in the future. All the best. |

Hi Dave,
I've just read your post again and you're quite right, I tried to edit but its late on a friday so I'm posting again! If you join now for the coming membership year, you won't receive a magazine until october time, and then again in april. However if you joined now with only three weeks to go before the end of the current membership year, you would receive the last two issues, and all newsletters that had been sent out during the membership year. I hope that makes sense. |

Hi Guy,
The booksellers were E. Chalmers-Hallam, and the contact is Laura Hiscock. I'm not sure of the address or telephone number, but they did advertise in the magazine some while ago. I'm sure someone will have their details. All the best, see you on the Severn! |

What I am very pleased about is that an angler of Guy Robbs Ability and Knowledge,I hear, will be rejoining the Barbel Society this coming year.
The Society could well do with anglers and celebrities of Guys pasion and knowledge within it's fold. Saying that the Society welcomes with open arms all anglers with a love of barbel and their environment. Graham |

Guys
Was it really worth firing off this issue, given the content???? How much did it cost? Not having a pop, well OK a small one, but would it not have been worth waiting for some more stuff. Constructive criticism meant. Neil Ps sorry missed the AGM |

Neil,
Oh yes, that'll be the one that you showed me this morning, sorry. Was in the bosom of Egham a bit longer than expected today. My car decided to throw petrol all over the place as I left this afternoon. Fortunately, a fuel filter later and all is well. Anyway enough of my daily woes. Ian PS Nick wants to play with the Delkims on Monday. Look out fellas, the Kennet bleepa will be about come June 16th... |

Re: BS Newsletter | ||

Oh, I'll have a read then now Neil
Query was that the discussion refered to the Magazine, not the newsletter so afraid did not follow your thought process. i.e. issue, what issue was raised that was not responded to?. You meant Issue....newsletter. Graham |

Re: BS Newsletter | ||

Neil, I have to disagree,I thought there was quite a lot of important content in so small a publication.
There is info on forthcoming events in early June,important info re fish-ins for juniors,news of newROs,(even one for Dorset),survey forms which hopefully will be required in a little over two weeks time,and more. Did you actually read it? How much more do you expect from a newsletter? |
