Re: Message for Liam | ||

Eric/Liam,
We have a similar problem in my club. On the stillwater the swims nearest the car park are SUPPOSED to be designated for disabled anglers, although it would be very difficult to get a wheelchair down the steep bank. Having said that the swims are ALWAYS occupied by long stay carp anglers. Our AGM is at the end of the month and I'm hoping to get something resolved on that issue, the only problem there is that for the last four years the AGMs have been dominated by the long stay carp brigade. The river situation is even worse, in common with most N/E spate rivers the banks of the Wear are at times dangerous even for able bodied anglers, 20-30ft banks are no place for people with severe disabilities. I can manage to stumble down, but have a devil of a job getting back at times. Members paying at the disabled rate complain, quite rightly, that they are paying their hard earned money and getting very little in return. Because the club has a disabled category, does the club HAVE to provide easy access, and ; Is there any funding/grant aid available in the disability bill. Either by post or e-mail, any help would be most appreciated. Tight Lines,Wearyone. (Apply To) Join The Chub Study Group

eric, I don't know who you are but have stayed out of any thread involing you as in my opinion you are nothing more than a trouble maker.
I just looked in at this thread, someone asks for advice and off you go again! quote " I don't want to be rude" then you tell 'wearyone' where to go. If you want this discussion to be that private then I suggest you keep it all to emails with Liam. Not even go to look in on this thread again so don't bother answering. Just for your information RMC put the disabled swims in about 8/9 yrs ago as part of the agreement of their lease. lyn |

Thanks Lyn,
But I'm big and bad enough to to look after myself.(no snub intended) As for Erics view on you and women in general, what can I say!! From my own point of view(for what it is worth)I always endeavor to treat females with the same respect as I would my mother, perhaps Eric does too! Perhaps too, he doesn't like women catching big barbel, good one Lyn. I always thought that posting items on an open public forum was for just that, perhaps I'm wrong. Liam, I will e-mail you when I get time, its hard going typing with one finger, especially when I keep hitting the wrong key. Thank you for your time. Tight Lines,

Nicely said John,
I am afraid that as helpful as Eric has been on this one issue, I can not condone the attitude that he has displayed with anyone, let alone a nice lady like Lyn. Who incidentally Eric has done more for angling in general, than any guy that I have met. No lady deserves disrespect, indeed in my view everyone deserves respect until it is lost, but in my opinion Eric, this lady commands it. If this thread goes downhill anymore than it has, I will edit all my own posts out. Respectfully to all ....Liam |

Great start to the thread Eric but the abuse is out of order in anyone's book.

Eric,
Like Andy said ,you started of an informative caring thread. Just for once, on this board you had people thinking you were sincere. It only turned bad because ,you were a little rude to John and very rude to Lyn. If I were in the same position, an apology, would have been my first thought and order of the day, even if I had to find the ladies e-mail address to do it. I never bear a grudge to anyone Eric, and still thank you for your info. how you handle the rest is up to you. .........Liam |

How about adopting a system, that gives us an endorsment when we post in anger, the moderators, can show a red card to rude posters.Three cards and we are off the board, maybe then some posters would mind thier manners.I myself am guilty of being rude in the past, but in my defence, were only rude to one very obnoxious person, though i should have known better.also did warn that it was only a matter of time, before that person offended somebody else.Could not beleive what i was reading today on this thread, and think its time the moderators were less leniant.

Liam,
looks like I missed the abuse on the thread but get the gist, I know you are passionate about helping disabled anglers and I applaud you for your efforts. Such a shame it went this way. Eric, what's you're problem mate?, this is not the thread to be an "ar----le", (something it seems you have become rather good at old son), and is disrespectful to the disabled in my book. That is what this thread was set up for, the disabled, not you, its not a thread about "ERIC" AND HIS PETTY BITCHING. Andy, maybe its time to come forth from the wings and stick that crook round his neck, and hook him off. I don't think to many will miss him. Mark. |
