We have all read and a lot of us have made comments and expressed our disgust and abhorance at what has been happening to the sport we love over the last few months ever since the episode with Kickles Farm.
We have seen on here Dave Adams as Chairman of NPFAA heartfelt comments at the loss of this water and the manner it was conducted. following on from that is the threat to MKAA of losing Adams Mill and Ravenstone. We have witnessed the twists and turns of those involved in trying to look like the good guys in the press while trying to discredit those that have good intentions and the ordinary anglers interests at heart.
Surely it is time to stand up and be counted, we can go on pontificating and blowing our chests out in indignation as long as we like but it will not make twopeneth of difference unless we do something about it.
A few of us have adopted a policy of boycoting any product, publication or whatever that is endorsed by those concerned, this is all very well but unless it is done on mass it is nothing but a token gesture. One only has to see the missguided stance taken by angling times in the editorial given to those involved in last weeks edition (not bought by me) to see the influence and publicity being used.
surely we owe it to ourselves, the clubs we belong to and all river anglers to do all we can to protect there and our rights to access and equal oportunity to all. We have on here a very good group of people, who know a lot of people, are masters of the pen, so lets use it. As individuals we stand no chance but collectively we stand a chance of bringing some of the respect back to angling for all not just a select few that consider they are above reproach and have a divine right to do as they please.
Ray lets have your ideas and anybody elses, lets all write to Angling times and any other publication that is deluded enough to think these people are doing good for Barbel and Angling in General, also to the manufactures of tackle endorsed by them, andf thanklyou wessex for naming a few that I'd missed, such is the arrogance.
This will be my last posting here with regard to this subject as I do not consider it fair to Subject Andy to being piggy in the middle and having to watch every post with regard to protecting himself legally.
