Posts: 2499 (17/06/01 13:05) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Hi all, Not the best first night ever but the chub kept me busy, 7 in total, biggest must have been well over 4lb. One nice tench that put up a very good fight (I thought it was the first barbel of the season!). Just as spirits (and eyelids) were dropping the rod bent over in that unmistakable way and the result was a small 4-5lb barbel. Great to see Andy D and Allan on the bank (can't believe how cheerful Allan was at 7:00am after no sleep, shame I wasn't the same!). Off again this afternoon so fingers crossed! Cheers, Andy F

Posts: 2499 (18/06/01 11:16) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Another Chub filled session yesterday (Sunday 17th), 5 in total the biggest going 4 and half pounds (I weighed it this time, thought it looked a 6 though - it must have had wind!). Just as darkness was falling, I took a nice little 5lb barbel from a fast glide, it put up a great fight that doubled my heart rate. Nice show my girlfriend her first ever barbel on the bank, even took a photo of her with it! Andy D was still there, and seems to have had a good weekend, I sure he'll tell us all about it soon. Will keep the report brief. I had two fish on Saturday night - the first around six pounds and the next was an extremely welcome double of 10.04 - the photos are being developed as I type, hope to be able to post one later if they are OK. On sunday I adopted a sort of roving approach since the girlfriend was collecting me at 7pm. The result was 7 barbel all between 5 and 8 pounds - my arm was nearly falling off by the time I left! Must also add it was great to meet a few of the blokes who post here namely Allan and Andy F (although we have met before) Another thing to add is to thank Andy F for vacating his swim on Saturday morning - cheers Mate!!

Posts: 2854 (19/06/01 14:38) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Have got the photos back from Boots and one of them has turned out rather well, unfortunately it seems the internet service is a little slow and I have been unable to collect the digital versions from the Boots site so far. Am hoping that people keep threads like this with catch reports going this season, the old catch reports BB ddidnt seem too popular. Keep us posted with your results (particularly B Avon) - I know Allan is at the river at the moment and hope he is doing well.

Fished between 1200 and 18.30. The above came out about 1800. Fishing was pretty slow otherwise. Cheers Bob

Posts: 34 (19/06/01 21:31) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I fished Limpley Stoke on saturday night.First fish of the season was a 4lb pike,caught on Bakers paste.It was then very quiet,until 1am,then I had 4 barbel in quick succession on meatballs. Ive noticed many of you have been catching in daylight.Do you think as the season progresses it will be harder to catch in daylight?

I think that I catch the majority of my fish during daylight and dusk - only a few after dark. Andy D
