Re: Technical Questions - Help Please | ||

Sorry to sound a bit dim but how do I create a thread for a new river on River reports?

BFW Shop | ||

I'm not too sure why but I can't get past the initial 'loading welcome' page to the BFW shop. I was just after a bit of a browse!
I'd be grateful if you could look into whether there is a problem with a site, or whether my PC is acting up! Thanks |

Re: Technical Questions - Please Ask for Help Here | ||

Hi there! Made a real faux pas of my first attempt to post a report with pics on the "Severn" board last night. I have ended up with a "new topic" of "Magnificent Severn...again" when the intention was an inclusion on the river reports for the severn
Is there any way that the moderators could move this entry onto the "severn" river reports thread please? Cheers, John D |

Hi all,
Sorry about the lack of response to the last few queries. Kev - the shop doesn't open properly if you're using a Firefox browser I'm afraid. Paul W reported this to me though I've been unable to fix to date. I'll ask one of my colleagues at work for help I think. In the meantime does this link help: www.barbel.co.uk/site/shop/system/index.htm Danefisher - If you want to add a new river to the reports you just start a new post/topic and title it with the name of the river that's missing from the list. Devon Traveller - I'm afraid there's no way of copying a thread inside another thread. One thing you could do is repost your message and pictures inside the Severn thread and then I'll remove the first post. Cracking fish BTW Cheers, Andy F |

Hi I'm trying to add an image to a post,but can't get it to work. The post shows a small box with a red cross in it and the preview shows the copied URL. Any ideas?
Martin. |

For the Internet zone, be sure that the Security level is set to 'Medium' or below. (If you have chosen to customize your security settings for the Internet zone, be sure that under the 'Java' heading, 'Java permissions' is not set to 'Disable Java'. You will want to select one of the three safety levels instead. Also be sure that under the Scripting heading, 'Scripting of Java ******s' is set to 'Enable' or 'Prompt'). Click OK to close the 'Security Settings' dialog Next, click the 'Advanced' tab. Scroll down till you see the sub heading 'Java VM'. Check the boxes next to 'Java logging enabled' and 'Java console enabled'. No, don't know what this is about. Subject : Sent PM outbox --------------------------------------------- From : Dodge Can't seem to find anywhere where sent PM's are stored, like an outbox - am I being stupid (again/as usual) or is this only available to those who pay their penny's to upgrade their account? Help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dodge --------------------------------------------- Reply from : paul4 Dodge Sorry for delay, have been away. No, your not being stupid. No pennies = no outbox as you deduced. Assuming you have your email address in your profile, the only way to have a full 'conversation' is to ask the poster to email you and promise not to divulge his address. --------------------------------------------- Reply from : Dodge paul4, Thank you, as you can see by the time its taken me to check for a reply the wait wasn't life-threatening Thanks --------------------------------------------- No further communication so assumed all sorted paul4 |

--------------------------------------------- From : martin (chippy 929) : signed up as local user need to be a global user to join other sites can anyone advise how to do it please Reply from paul4 : You cannot upgrade from a local to a global user. You have to register as a global user, same username etc, and it will replace your local 'account'. Unfortunately you will lose your post-count history but as you are only on 6 posts them I guess that's not much of a problem reply if you need help Reply from Martin : CHEERS MATE, TRIED TO RE REGISTER BUT IT SAYS THAT SOME ONE HAS THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS, OBVIOUSLY THATS ME CAN YOU HELP Reply from paul4 : This should help try here --------------------------------------------- No further posts so I hope all is sorted paul4 |

How do I get my icon to show up @ 60x60 pixels under my username and not 10 x 10 next to it? Its probably real easy. Graham |

Ok I see it now. From my tests I deduce : I believe you have your image URL in the Account Preferences / Use Personal Icon URL box, and have a tick in the adjacent box - remove both You must put your image URL in your profile Personal Information / My Photo box Hope this sorts it - try it and see paul4 Yes, sorted |

Hi,
I've noticed the last couple of days that if I visit BFW without logging in the threads are `jumbled-up' i.e. not sorted in descending date order.. When I log-in they're listed correctly - any ideas? Thanks in advance, Declan |
