Should I give any credence to alledged hacking of Yuko pm sysytem on BFw and other Yuko sites, and the hackers' ability to read and disseminate your
Pm's, as posted by a regular BFw poster on another, not public-facing forum. His suggestion to me to empty my inbox has been implemented, as that was where
I put all my private communication.......

I had my box violated recently when someone posted some personal messages of mine. After making enquiries I discovered that a forum member had copied and
pasted my messages and sent them via email to another poster who in turn claimed to have "hacked" into members accounts.
Whatwife, I think you have been had. |

Hi, I updated my personal profile the other day and I wish I hadn't. When it asked for the screen/display name I typed in my usual name (Lee P) only for it
to say it was taken. I thought this was strange since I've had it for 18 months. I typed in another name just to bypass the error message but now my post
count has started from zero and no one knows who I am, which is a pity since I caught my first double yesterday. Is there anyway to reinstate my origianl user
name?

Basically you have 2 usernames, each local to BFW (.barbelfishingworld) "Lee P" has 79 posts (joined 08/18/06) "Leee P" has 2 posts (joined 08/20/08) I think somewhere along the line you must have hit the "e" key once too often

is anyone else suffering with screen freeze just after you load a page up? Its only happening with yuku pages. I can open up the page ok, but it then freezes for about 30 seconds and I cant do anything (scroll down the page or post etc). Steve |

No reports of this happening <edit - see below>. What browser are you using?; have you cleared cache (Firefox, Netscape) or temporary internet files (IE)?; What is your cache set at? 1MB or 50MB? I clear the temp internet files (reasonably) regularly. The problem seems to have gone away (for now), so maybe it was something Yuku's end. Cheers for the help. Steve |

PLEASE, PLEASE Admin - can't you do anything to make the Reply box unavailable if you are not logged in? I dread to think how much time I have wasted in
typing out long replies, only to lose them when I get the "You are not logged on to Yuku" message.

I have tested the Quick Reply functionality etc etc (tecchy speak
 )
Rather than have the Quick Reply active only when a user is logged in .......... we have decided to delete the Quick Reply function altogether

When I try to add a new topic it states that I do not have permission to do this.
I would like to start a new topic (an unlisted river ,Calder) which although I have researched on the site cannot find any information for many years. These seem to be archived. I am planning on Barbel fishing on the Calder during the course of next year and would like to discuss some relevant information with any other interested parties. Please can you help. Pete |
