hi, im 21 and from mansfield in nottinghamshire.havent done any river fishing since i was about 13 and in this time i have been fishing ponds in and around my area.now i feel the time has come do go back to the rivers and start catching some river chub and barbel.ive got all the tackle and was just asking where is a good river around my area to catch some decent size fish and are they day ticket or members rivers?after im back on the river scene i would like to try some stalking any rivers good for this?

Don't know if you drive, but I guess the Trent isn't too far?
Newark's around 20 miles - the Trent in that area has lots of day-ticket fishing, and is stuffed with Barbel! Have a look at A1 Pits (Sth Muskham Fisheries) website and Worksop Anglers site.. Don't know the URLs off the top of my head but a quick Google should sort you out.. |

join DRAC club then you just nip down the A38 to derby go right past derby to the A50 jnc then its either left back
towards M1 ( drac waters at swarkestone & shardlow etc on the trent ) or right towards uttoxeter ( drac waters at scopton /tutbury on the dove )

i use to fish the newark dyke/scrapyard bit of the trent.i would like to go back there but dont no if the fishing is any good anymore.we stopped going when it
got cleaned out as the fishing was poor and only fished ponds.at the moment im not looking to be a member anywhere just yet.want to see how it goes on a couple
of day ticket areas.
