Find it handy ta call ya mate a few swims down,ta say kettle is on,or quick net this fish fer me!! as dont like shouting down the bank,cos wos dragged up propper. Anyone reccomend a good pair,simple ta use,clear sounding an reliable,an under 50 nicker

Our lads use them on site and they have a 1km range. What one understands is only half true. What one does not understand is the full truth.

Posts: 209 (24/05/08 12:54) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Motorola T4500, used em for about 5 years, cost 20 quid from the states (you can find em on e-bay) and have urban range of about 1/2 mile, possibly further on river bank. Midland GXT 550, used em for about 1 year before one of em gave up the ghost, again from states, 50 quid, urban range 2miles or so, possibly 3-4 miles in open. Midland GXT 750, used em for about 6 months, excellent so far, work with all me other walkie talkies, load of options etc, bit over complicated, 50 quid off e bay, 2 weeks delivery but by far the best so far unless going for something around £100 per radio. Adjustable power, loads a channels, very clear, good reception but bit on the large side. (motorolas are lovely and small! ) Battery lasts about 2 or 3 two hour sessions depending on use or 12 day session. Motorollas not much better. Use battery packs or Nimh rechargables in all/both. Overnight charge 12 hrs. Midland radios have option for own personal calling frequencies which other radios don't. Perfect if you don't want all other usesrs to know exactly where you caught that 16lb Barbel!!! Hope this helps. PS My little boy has some of thoses cheaper radios like you get a Tesco etc and would not even waste my time and effort throwing them into the river!
