Lucky socks or a lucky rod? I have somehow got it into my head that if i'm settled in to a swim for a long session and miss a run or get a fish that drops the bait, in the first hour. I will blank for that session! Just curious. Crazy i know, but it seems to happen that way. Michael.

As for superstitions , I have loads , favourite bits of tackle , i.e ,if for any reason If don't have my ' favourite ' reel from my barrage of ancient Mitchell 300's I feel somehow less confident .Although illogical , if something knocks your confidence then this will be detrimental to your fishing . The best example of this is having a run of blanks . Other superstitions I will not reveal , as they are silly and the Ousemeister micky taking crew will swing in to action if I reveal .

As for the landing net thing, i also do that, but have never thought about it like superstition. It just seems like your tempting fate, set it up before your rods because i'm gonna need it, 'cos i'm gonna catch loads today? Eh? Michael.

I had one with 5 seconds to go a few nights ago. This has happened on more than one occassion! Could this be the power of a postive mental attitude or am I simply going bonkers from staring at isotopes for too long? Steve
