It's just my opinion but I just don't like the feel of it when the fish is getting near the net and I think it hammers their mouth during the fight. but there is a few swims I would use braid, namely Nash Bullet braid in 15 or 25lb they are the swims that are festooned with rock or where the river bead is solid rock like you find in places on the Ribble. I only use it because mono can't cope with the abrasion.

Have had very few problems since I came to terms with the stuff. But you do have to forget all this nonsense about 'playing' fish. The only way to prevent cut-offs is to get the fish up immediately and never give them an inch. A forgiving rod provides the cushioning, and the clutch gives line very grudgingly. If you let the fish get back to the bottom and the rocks it will cut you off - usually an inch or two from the hook. 25lb Silkworm + rocks = ----------- They're only fish...

Very low diameter, but high strength. I had a 27lb Mirror Carp on 10lb BS no problem at all, didnt even get that worried feeling when under presure from snags/weeds etc. From what i have read in articles, its what they call a super braid, similar to Power Pro. Its not made from Dyneema, but a high density polymer dooda thingy, you get the idea i hope. All i know is, its stronger and thinner and it dosnt break where others do, like on rocky and snaggy river beds. I have tried a few different types on my Carp and Pike rods, but this is one i will keep. It seems that i was forever cutting off the last 10 feet or so every time i went out, due to it getting that furry look. Which made me think it was wearing thin. Where different brands of line vary is in the denier of the fibres used and the braiding process. Some also have other fibres added to provide colour, weight, or abrasion resistance - or a combination of these. ----------- They're only fish...

I do have the Amnesia Black - or should I get the Clear for snag leaders? Just wondering about the effect of the colour on the fish - dont think it matters after dark or in flood water but during the day?

Posts: 540 (14/08/07 12:42) More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Amnesia is @#%$ as leader materiel John,..the knots are huge and rattle in the rings , or worse , jam,..(the only knot you can really use with it is a uni..)...It doesn`t have the abrasive resistance of MOST braids,..the only real use for it is for a stiff link,..and for that it`s superb... Not sure the colour makes one iota of difference,..although maybe the clear reflects a little more light... Find a good braid and stick to it....
