Hi Steve.
I have used the TBR2 tripod most of this season, I purchased it for swims where I cannot use banksticks. I have not had any problems with it - though I tend to use it as low as possible. Regards, Dave |

Steve I have been using the Horizion for a few years and made the modification for this winters floods. Have a look the the BFW articles section at Fox
Horizon Pod and Modifications.
I made some changes, mainly that I used a spike at right angles to secure the back end and that I had the front legs closer to the rests, just personal choice. Very adaptable whatever you decide. If you want to see the back end spike set up I will try and post a picture Dave |

Steve,
I have the TBR2 tripod (made by Craig Parker, just put his name into ebay and loads of pods will come up including the barbel one - York carp centre sells them). His pod is ok but the fittings are all plastic and tend to break. A few home made mods can be done (drill out the plastic threads and put roofing bolts in). For my trent fishing I use a fox sky pod which is the daddy but not that mobile or cheap come to think of it but you get what you pay for and it needs no mods at all. Hope this helps Spiros Edit: If you want to borrow any of the pods mentioned for a trial feel free!

Thats exactly the same as I use. I did the same mod as you, got it of here. Its a well stable setup and a well built pod. I got mine of ebay, they often go for
a good price.

Can some one explain why they use rod pod's please as i tend to have my rod tip's close to the water ??
Is it to keep the line off the bottom and away from snag's and rock's.. Please tell.. Thanks atb.
My wife said if I don't pack up fishing she will divorce me... I will miss her...

JUst what Josh said. but, when there's lots of debris etc, having them under the water can be an effective tool, it also can reduce spooking the fish
because it keeps your line low (this can be useful on pressurised waters or when targeting bigger fish). There's loads of discussion about the TBR2 if you
search for it, we've probably had about 4 threads focussed on it. I love mine for mobility, but agree it could use some better parts.
