I have used a company called Parcel2 go for my rod deliveries and the charge has been around the £15 mark, they now apply a surcharge for length of the parcel
and a 12ft rod comes out at £40 odd,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, anyone know a company that will deliver rods at a reasonable price ???
Any help much appreciated, Nick

We have an account with TNT and get charged just under £12 per consignment. There are cheaper couriers out there though to date (touch wood) TNT have been 100%
reliable. Don't use City Link whatever happens!
Business Post are cheaper than TNT though I haven't tried them with one of our rods yet. Regards, Andy F

Rod delivery,,,,,, help please | ||

I second Andy's view of City Link. Nearly every time I have received a delivery via City Link it has been a disaster. I usualy end up having to go the depot to collect it and wait 20-30 minutes while they tried to find the package. Gavin |

when i have sent rods by courier it has been with a south yorks based company called APC,they charge from £8 per rod and are very reliable(most parcels
arriving the next day even if on a 3 day tariff).I would also recommend securicor, very efficient.

TNT for me just under £12 for standard delivery.
Carpet tubes are a good substitute for a rod tube. Dave |

Some couriers will only take the item if you have an account. |

Did not think of that, I pay my employer when they send parcels on my behalf.

Tried most of the companies mentioned here and yes they will take a parcel for a round the £15 mark but you have to have an account, without an account the
cheapest I have been quoted is TNT at £30.
Defeats the object of selling a rod at £45 including the delivery based on my previous experiences. Perhaps a warning to all those selling rods on the site.

The majority are now account only or a ridiculous excess charge. Had this problem a few months ago. The ONLY one i found was parceluk which was £12.49 plus
vat. They use City Link though but it worked out ok.

Thanks for all the help guys, think I am now at the stage where I shall have to give the buyer his money back. I have just had a quote for £85 from one company, absolutely ridiculous !! if I was shipping lead I could understand it but the rod itself will weigh less than 2 kg when packed, ho hum !

I must be fortunate in that I still use Royal Mail, and it still only costs me £8-10....
