lol, I wouldn't mind a flood, the banks would be quieter
And now I've got my wish, it's torrential! Wonder if the river will get much of it? (Handcrafted Feeders for sale, made to your specifications. Have a look in BFW fishing classifieds.)

Hey lads, best of luck to you all. Hope this season treats you all well.
Kenji, we still need to do a few hours together Mr Edd, hope to see you there, just remind me who you are. Greenwellies, have some more of those relaxed sessions again, might drop in next to you at some time. Now, if only i can get on my peg with no hassles tomorrow... |

Peter,
A sessions fishing would be good. You want to get in a peg tomorrow hassle free. Have you forgotten which river you're fishing? |

Re: A relaxed peg | ||

Kenji, the next four days are well planned out, but then plans sometimes go pearshaped.
Sat - Taff, Sun - Hendre, Mon - Morning Taff, evening to sunset eel fishing on Roath, Tue - Morning Taff, evening on Roath, eel and carp. If it all goes to plan, 9 of the korum badges in 4 days, maybe ten. Badges I am trying for - Barbel, Specimen Barbel, Carp, Bream, Specimen Bream, Roach, Specimen Roach, Chub, Specimen Chub. If i could latch on to one of the nice carp in Roath, would be well chuffed. But then the best laid plans of mice and men... |

Anyone know what the condition of the river is. I have just been to have a look at the Tawe, it hasn't risen an inch.

I walked up from the castle to black weir and the river is very low, no sign of the rain having any effect. Cheers Simon |

Re: Taff | ||

Spent the day on the Taff, started of around a foot up, falling down to around normal levels. no hint of color though, could see the mullet all over the gravel runs. Not quite the start of the season I hoped for, 5 chub and a eel of 2pound guestimated.Had some yobs set up across from me using boat rods with multipliers, casting little leads and maggots all over the place. Loads of noise, barbeque fire going, my thanks go to Brian from Glamorgan Anglers who chased them off the river. Anyhow, tomorrow is another day.
Met Chris on the river as well and had a great chat, if you read this chris, how about a few hours together on the river, I would love to gain some knowledge from you, if you will. |

Hi all
Managed to eventaully get out onto the banks for a few hours. Didn't expect the weather to be so damn hot. Got fishing at 11:30 then had a visit from the Environment Officers checking licences (shame we don't see them more often). Fished a boilie for 2 hours with no results so I switched over to a 14mm pellet & had an instant knock on the rod tip shortly followed by another then an instant rap round and a lovely boris graced my net after a dogged fight. It weighed in at 10-02. What a result on such a bright hot day. There didn't seem to be too much action elsewhere on the Gabalfa stretch I heard of only 1 other boris being caught (9lb) and a couple of chub. I called it a day at 4pm so there may have been other catches in the evening. The river had no extra water and was at it's usual summer levels and only a hit of colour. I hope you Taffers had a good start to the season wherever you fished. Cheers. GreenWellies |

Hey Wellies, top result for you mate. I thought about fishing that area yesterday but reckoned it would be every man and his dog there. So you the man who got the double yesterday, Heard it from Chris at around 5, so news travels fast.
Hope you get some more there soon and i might see you on the bank. Peter |

Fished yesterday with Dennis, no fish showing to pellet or boilie. Was very quiet apart from a few chub around
