well some one had to start one lol, hopefully this year, this river will show them that there is PROPER barbel in yorkshire south of boston spa
 il be in donny friday night ready for midnight, any1 fancy poping down for a cuppa your more than welcome |

If you can narrow it down a bit with out giving to much away it would be nice to speak to someone whose on the local rivers I would appreciate a brew and a chat cheers John

ye no worries mate, one thing you will find with me is that i am more than willing to share info and help people out and i expect more of the same realy, at the end of the day we are all there for the same thing- to catch fish,
il be behind the prison, down stream of the foot bridge, which bank depends on the flow. probebly from around 7pm unless its still raining bad then il be going very early saturday morning |

I think the current position is: Don't do to the Don. The Don will come to you!
It's over the banks and still rising. You'll be able to fish from the town hall in Donny soon. |

I've just had a good look at the Don around the Prison and St Mary's bridge and it's 16ft up. Nearly as bad as year 2000. The EA reckon it has just levelled off and should drop unless we get masses more rain.

ye i heared off aide1200 ian, well done mate,
not rearly the start i was expecting lol, i thought id got my self a don double first try this season, well i did realy lol just not a barbel, it was a mirror carp, o well thats what you get using pellets and source bolies lol. it put up a bloody good scrap in flood water. if we dont get too much rain it should be bang on by the weekend and il deffo be getting some of that spam, it seems to be catching allover the place. what peg you fish ian if you dont mind me asking? |

HI',Can anyone help?, now the levels are starting to drop,i'm wanting to fish the don at the prison in doncaster,but after going up to view the swim last week for the first time,i can't find anywere to park my car,can anyone advise me were to park as thers double yellow lines everywere.

 Hiya sorry to but in on you lads...my girlfriends in Sheffield and her daughters lost everything the Don burst it banks and her flat was engulfed by 3ft of water... The flat was built not 10 metres from the Don...now come on how daft is that !! Im sorry for anyone to go through that !! hope the situation improves for you all !! |

Mook,the Don will go down,and we will all fish again,but my heart goes out to the people who have lost everything in the floods,even our small village had a river running through it on Monday.Hope your girlfriend and her daughter are OK.

 Yeah everythings ok now ...gf daughter been given a new place so there busy setting the house up... Had a great session yesterday on the Tees...9lb  z and a 9lb 11oz...magic...had those plus a 7 and a 10...so far this season must be dreaming...Good luck to all the Don lads...we know its hard fishing up here dont we...

Fished sprotbourgh today ,finally ,peg two on the donny side managed to get 2 out but was strugling with a snag straight in front of peg lost numerous.Moved to peg 5 for last two hours but nothing but at least i,ve managed a trip.Hopefully i might bump in to somebody soon.
