Posts: 126 (15/07/07 20:18) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Evening all A little late posting but out on friday night and had a little Joy 3 small chublets then a nice Boris of 6;12 to finish the night off, home a happy bunny. the weather was atrocious mind peed it down non stop after the first hour. ... never mind, worth it. tight lines and get out there.

It's charging through up there. I found one small dead roach in the field. This section normally looks like a canal but is about 5ft down on normal with the sluice open. The tide mark on the trees is about 13ft on normal levels but then the banks are quite steep in some places. Kris

Must admit it's well out of sorts so far......managed to sneak a small one the other day , i've pulled out of a few too . I did see a few as the water was clearing. Been to a few others, but since the wife changed jobs i'm finding getting out for a short sess here and there a bit difficult, so have been spending my time on 'away-days' elsewhere I'm planning a winter 'campaign', if I can find the time AND resist the lure of other rivers/species . The Avon looks really spot on at the mo, so reckon The Marden, just may be worth a dangle this weekend (if i can drag myself away from the Rugby ) Cheers Paul M...........

Posts: 505 (03/10/07 18:20) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Hi all, only just found this lovely little river, went out for a bit of a scout around last week , just to see what it looked like, did a lttle fishing and caught a few chub, a decent size too for the size of the river. Then went out this week for a proper go and had 4 barbel and 6 chub. The barbel were up to 7lb, chub up to close on 4, all in all a really enjoyable few hours and a place i intend to revisit to look for that marden double Get out there and get wet!!!

Dave, Premier angling do tickets for the Calne stretch, as do T.K tackle in Calne itself. Season is about £20 i think and day tickets are probably about £3-£4. Not sure where the Wroughton stretch tickets are available from, but probably the same shops! Hope this helps, Adam

Fish were 'On The Munch' . Water temp of 52 and about 3-4 feet on ! Got wet, but happy ! The thunder and lightening, thankfully, stayed at a distance .
