How's the river looking at the moment? I'm up on friday for a scout around and to pick up my permits, looking forward to it!

Well I gave it a go for a few hours and had a load of chub and a barbel of about 4-5lb. Most pleasurable!

As if I would do a thing like that Had a go today from 11ish to 4pm. Had 7 Chub and a Bream . Managed to pull out of a Barbel late on  .Was nice to meet Dave (moutachedfish) on the bank and have a chat, hopefully see you there again soon. Quite a few anglers about......... Well done on your Barbel Adam........ Oh, river was up a tiny bit and had a little too much colour for 'proper' fish spotting Hopefully it will quieten down later in the week. Spoke to a couple of lads who'd been up to The Teme last night and came all the way back down as they thought it was more or less unfishable ! Cheers all, Paul M............ |

So it was you I talked to on the bank, didnt know whether to ask or not really! At least I'll know for next time...
Looking at the gallery I know which one Dave is now too... 3 BFW anglers on the bank at the same time, almost a fish-in! Cheers Adam |

I did wonder ! I felt the same about asking too, silly really, but then that's folk ! It was too busy to fish 'properly'  ........Had a few Chub and a Bream in my first swim, moved and the angler who dropped in there had a Barbel, sod's law ! Lost one there myself later. I couldnt resist fishing today... well if you can call it fishing... more like trying not to get eaten alive by horseflies! Horrible things!
Anyway, Just had loads of chub despite having the whole river to myself. Spotted a few barbel today, but the chub were just on it! Cheers Adam |

Didn't bother after yesterday being busy ! Wish I had now . Had the colour gone out of it ? Know what you mean about The Chub, I only reeled in once they'd hooked themselves yesterday ! Even the Bream hung itself !I agree the flies are a total MARE ! They seem to LOVE me ! Cheers Paul M........... |

The colour was much the same as yesterday, maybe even a tad worse! It made spotting the barbel under the streamer weed very difficult! Adam |

Hi All,
Fished Saturday 2 til 6pm. Had one barbel of 6lb 6oz. Loads of suicidal chub aswell. Nettles almost 6 ft tall in places!! Regards Kris |

Went on Saturday, walked from Stanley to the Avon, very hard to even see the water in some places let alone fish it! Didn't see a barb all day, caught loads of decent chub could have had one a chuck if I felt like it, lost my landing net head and broke my handle, great start to the year

evening all
Out for the first time this season on Monday night, not sure what to expect as i only fished the Marden twice last year. not 1 or 2 but 3 boris graced my net and 1 kamikaze. the barbel were in fine fettle with my last one touching 7.4. a really long lean fish. it took me till middle of july to break my duck last year so happy days.hope its not begginers luck. tight lines to all and see you on the banks.
