The trick is to conceal ones head under a hat
with rather floppy tendancies! Best of luck spiros and all |

Re: River Wharfe | ||

Bnud,
The only hat that will be gracing my head will be a Stussy cap and I don't think they do floppy styles! The river at Tadcaster is below normal summer level despite the rain we have had. |

As the boards have been renewed thought I'd post again...
Does anybody know much about the barbel population around Easedike? Thanks for your reply Spiros. What do you think makes it a good winter venue? |

Had an exploratory hour or two at Newton around lunchtime. River up 10ft and dropped a foot by 2pm when I packed up after roving a few swims. No barbel but spotted a pair of trainers, a flip-flop and 6 footballs sailing by. Needed 6oz of lead to hold bottom!! Comfy fishing from top of flood bank.

I am and loving every minute of my extremely short sessions.
Yesterday i had a short evening session. Water conditions were perfect, nice steady flow, no debris and still a tinge of colour. Adopted roving approach. The barbel were playing biggest 6lb 12oz. Not a single chub knock fell to my rod. Strange... Had an encounter with a 2lb + eel. Took two men combined weight of 29stone to take the hook from its lower lip. Slippery devil I like eels but I don't want to catch them. Should be spot on for any angler venturing out tomorrow. Bucket. They loved them pellets you gave us. Cheers mate. Tight lines Snowy. |
