Hello all i was out friday night on the upper river and found it rising rapidly as i got there the colour was mixing into that bright orange ,didn't get a touch.
Fished wasp on sat afternoon and managed one at 3:30 in the afternoon lovely fish and a great scrap on my fox duo lite . Fish weighed 9lb 1oz and i will post the photos when i have my home pc up and running .The river was dropping on saturday but when i returned on sunday morning it was up at least 12" and a lot of new reed beds coming through on the plus side the annual raft race was cancelled . Bob, twitchwood and ian i have you r mail and will contact you soon . Regards Barry Peck |

Hello lads.
Just joined the forum and delighted to see there are river reports to give the level and conditions. I'm a member of the Leamington angling association, and most of my river fishing before has been for chub or mixed bags on maggot feeders. I am determined to catch my first river barbel and have had a few goes on the first meadow as you enter wasperton. Haven't managed any, and have had chub, chublets and gudgeon(only fish I've caught on cheese paste!) while experimenting with different baits for them, but nothing on boilies (the source) or halibut pellets when I gave them a go. As I'm novice to river barbelling probably not fishing it that well, but are the halibut pellets and boilies worthwhile perserving with and just waiting for a take, or should I try something else like flavoured meat? |

Fished middle reaches pm yesterday and although I only caught chub and eel the conditions were perfect.
Up about 3ft but falling fast and today will be spot on, no rubbish and good colour. |

Fished a new stretch yesterday evening, river looked great, although up it was dropping. Dropped about an inch while I was there for my 3 hour stint.
Managed 2 small Barbel and a few Chub. Lost a double at the net mid way through the session. Still was pleased to catch. Should be out today really as it will be spot on today I think. Might go a little later. atb

Just Chub for me yesterday, they were going mad. I must have had 30lb in 2 hours, almost all of of them were under 2lb. River had dropped at least a foot from the previous day and still holding plenty of colour.
