Nice one Lewis
I just had an hour upstream of Stratford - the river is back in it's banks and dropping off - fished the near margin with large lumps of meat - a few enquiries but nothing that turned into a full bite. Back out again tomorrow evening for a proper session if I can get to the river. Cheers

Well done guy's. Good to hear at least some of us managed to get out.
Now I know we all like to keep locations close to our chest's, but i have a day off wednesday and was hoping you guy's might be able to point me in the direction of a good days barbelling. I have the BAA & LAA books. I did think of Wasperton, but i do fancy a change. Any thoughts much appreciated. Rob |

Re: Warwickshire Avon | ||

Well a slight anti climax to the start for me ,having spent the past month feeding and studying a shoal of upper avon fish i found the river in a state as did we all and due to the under growth on the upper river it did look un fishable .
After visiting my upper stretch i decided to have a look at wasperton and upon my arrival found two lads fishing it ,i had to take my hat off to them as they were sat on a little square of grass with twelve feet of brown swirling water in front of them but neever the less they had caught as the photo on the fronty page shows. After a chat i decided to get haome and grab my gear and get back to the upper river and chop my way through six feet of nettles and give it a go ,i only needed four ounces of lead to hold just of the rod tip and i put two 16mm sonu hooker pellets on the hair wrapped in paste . To my utter amasement the tip went round thre times and io managed three chub up to 3lb 7oz so i left the river a happy chap anmd feeling good to be back on the river . I am going out to buy a fllodwater rod at dinner time today so that i can get on the river come hell or high water (hahaha) . Bob i may be at wasperton wednesday drop me a line im going to walk it tonight . Barry Peck |
