Morning All,
Thought I would bring this to your attension. My dad is walking along side the Avon in Stratford at the moment and has just phoned me to tell me that there are 3 people course fishing!! They are situated just below the Gordon Grey Lock on the Stratford book side of the river. I've phoned the EA but they are not interested!! How can these people be stopped? If the EA wont do anything about it, can the club? If these people are members of the Stratford book surely they should have their books taken off them and banned from fishing any Stratford water. Perhaps the Police should be informed. After all, it is against the law to fish in the close season! Is it kids or adults fishing?

 Got to walk the dog shortly and this is only 10 mins from my house. Unforunately on this particular stretch it has been a common occurence this close season. Even witnessed someone bivvied up there a few weeks back  The EA did send a bailiff down on that occasion tho.Cheers Lewis

The EA just said thank you and could not say if somebody would go and have a look.
The blokes fishing were all above the age of 30 so there are no excusses. I'm coming down on Saturday for 4 days fishing so I may see a few of you on the bank. All the best, Tim |

Just got back and the guys who were fishing earlier have gone. They had a very lucky escape too as on the way along the river I bumped into the Stratford bailiff and some of the comittee members who were going bank clearing.

Hi,
Is anybody on the group a member of Welford AC? If so the club has folded apparently so now I'm looking for another stretch close to Welford. Hopefully somebody else will take on the old water but it seems all up in the air at the moment. Has anybody got any advice / information on clubs around the welford area? Thanks Mike |

Looks like we will be starting the new season as we finished the last- water everywhere. Avon through Warwick has burst its banks along with the Leam. I'm going to have a gander at Wasperton later so will report back. But with more rain forecast it might be a washout for the glorious 16th! Although i'm sure some of you nutters will be up for it!

Just returned from Wasperton/ Barford. Wasn't too sure where the river actually was, until i spotted someone fishing! He was in the top meadow of LAA.
Water is into fields and not looking very inviting. Couldn't get down to the lower stretches of LAA, far too much water. Peck, i think tomorrow evenings meet might be off mate! Good luck to those who give it ago, and be careful. (sorry to sound like your mum). Looks like i'm finishing off the decorating. That'll please the Mrs |
