I went out this evening for a short session, water temp 7.7, I blanked but Mark had one fish around 7lb

hi all
fished this afternoon/evening.wind,wind and more wind.1 bite at about 7pm the normal 3 foot twich but it was a 3lb chub but it saved a blank.a mate with me had a small barbel at 6 30pm and we packed up at 8pm. cheers mv |

Very enjoyable day on Saturday with my son.
2 barbel of 9-9 and 6-8 plus 2 chub to 4lb, all caught in the morning with the evening producing nothing. Hoping my 6 year old son will land his 1st barbel soon but so far every time his rod goes it ends up being a chub. Still he did a great job playing the chub with a 12ft rod and I'm sure its only a matter of time (if he doesn't get pulled in that is!  )

Short session after work produced a medium sized barb around 7:30pm.
Temperature dropped like a stone after dark and decided to head home when the landing net started freezing to the ground. 
As usual the rod wrapped round as I was packing up, only this time I lost the fish because my line was snagged  (downside of fishing a swim you don't know too well in darkness!).

Your son would get his first barbel if you didn't keep knocking him out of the way and grabbing the rod every time it hoops over

Thought id save us from going second page...
hows everyone been doing the past couple of days? I was supposed to go today but i saw the frost on the car and my pond hand about 2inches of ice on it so i though id give it a miss, because i think id have to of put so much effort in for a bite. But the weekend and next week ill be out as much as possible, you all going to be out much for the last 10days? Cheers sam |

I too am giving it a miss while the weather is so frosty, I should be out fishing at the weekend though and maybe a couple of evening weekday sessions if the
conditions are good.

Hi All,
After many many blanks, I have just landed my first ever barbel, on the Kennet. Went for a short session after work last night, and the rod wrapped round at 6.15pm. Although my scales aren't the latest, it should just over 101b. I am so chuffed. Mike |

Water temp was 8.5 today nice and warm! I had two chub, but was trying out a new hook length material in the evening and was totaly disssappointed! no other
action once i switched from my usal.

it's slow but the big girls are feeding.... 3 over 14 came out on a 200 yard stretch today..... one in the morning, 2 around 5pm, as far as I know there
were only 6 or so fish out all day........... temp 46, river nice level but no real colour........... had a pb of 14.10 myself today.... well chuffed , first
barb of 2008!!!
