What has it got to do with you? If you have a problem with me using them maybe next time you see me ( I am the one with the bells attached on my rod tips )come and say hello. I dont believe that you should use an alarm but if thats what someone wishes to do then thats their choice. The same choice I have whether to use a bell or not.

The plump 10lb 11oz barbel (hooked somewhat spookily at 10:11pm on the 21st June) looked more like prime autumn fish and took a liking for my Meteor boillies (thank you CC Moores!!) - the 1st time these baits have graced the Plumb hair-rig on the Kennet. Barbel and Captor are doing well! C. "Study to be Quiet"

Took my little lad out fishing this morning for a few hours and we managed another 2 barbel and a good chub. He was well impressed and I let him hold the rod when I was playing one of the barbel (nearly pulled him in!!) Now he's telling everyoned he caught 2 babel Gavin

Tried a new swim (for me) that I had always thought looked promising. After a bit of a wait, had an 8lb'er grace the net, followed by plenty of knocks but no further takes. The rain was hitting the ground so hard that the mud was splashing back up onto the rods and reels. They now look like a couple of mountain bikes after a wet ride!!! All the best...

River is chocolate coloured, high and rising, very strong current, struggling to hold bottom for more than a couple of minutes with 4oz. Loads of rubbish coming down too, hooked a tree as it passed by, tried to land it but it made one last dive at the net and snapped me, would have been a new PB too, gutted...............sorry, I think all the rain has got to my head, sick of the sight and sound of the damn stuff now...........would anyone recommend Aldermaston Mill on a Saturday at the moment? Crooky......

Fished from 8.00 to 2.00 , rain poured down from the moment we got there to the moment we packed up , the river rose about 6" when we were there , lot of rubbish floating down , really strong current , couldnt hold bottom with a 2 oz lead had 1 barbel 8 3/4
