'fished' downstream from Ashurst - more later.
Really surprised how few guys out - even the weir was quiet. Fordcombe had a couple of cars at the manor, several down at the bridge. Haven't heard of any barbs taken first night. Personally, I was at the river by 7pm, got set up. set alarm for 11.30, managed to cast out at midnight, sparko ten seconds later, woke up 4am. Went home - might as well kip in a bed...... ....trying again this weekend. Have had a great time fly fishing around balls green last couple of months. You really get to know the river when you walk down the middle of it. There are some serious snags, but some great fish-holding spots that you wouldn't be able to spot from the bank. good fishing guys. Dan |

hi all went out last night for 3 barbel biggest being 8lb 2oz really good river slightly up than normal

my first trip was on thursday night one chub and one baby barbel about 14inches was good to be on the river again cheers john |

Had one in the morning of 16th, 9lb 12oz plus 6 Chub from about 4lb to 5lb 6oz. One of the best starts I have had down on the Medway.
