Tributary of the Loddon, south of J11 M4. Cove AS has a decent stretch near Swallowfield. I've had fish to 12.02 from it, but haven't fished it for four or five years.

Don't know the river above the Cove water, and only fished that for a season, but I would think there's the odd fish further upstream. Give Yateley Angling Centre a ring - they might know a bit more.

Looks nice... | ||
|
First recce - looks good - plenty of weed - and pretty unspolit - compared to the Kennet.
Spoke to the bailiff - he's heard of fish to 13lb - Optimism reigns.. |

First session on the new venue..
Fished last night - 6pm - midnight.. W/T 14.6c - a/t 12c - mild & overcast - perfick... One bite - 10lbs Chuffed would be putting it mildly... ;-) |

Slower... | ||
|
Fished last night - 6.30 -12 midnight.
W/T 13.2 A/T 13..a slight overcast meant it was still not too cold. 2 bites - a chub - and a barbel 7lb 10oz, so saved the blank. This river doesn't appear to contain any crayfish..Simon, is that the case? Cheers |

Shame I can't get out for the moment - 10.6 and rising - back to normal levels now - almost

Wild 'n' windy | ||
|
Friday night - 5pm 11.00pm - w/t 11.6 a/t 12.0.
Pointless even trying to put an umbrella up - each time it just collapsed around my ears...though the John Roberts "windy rest" was awesome - never once did the rod leave the rest (due to wind, that is!) 2 x boris - 10lb 9oz & 7lb 10oz. Back again tonight - this river is getting more & more interesting.. |
|||
Simon Moxley |
Superb conditions....5.30 -> 11.30 w/t 11.3 a/t 8+ | ||
|
Great conditions! - overcast, mild, occasional showers, though wind getting up later.
Tried a new swim - and stayed put for a change... 2 x boris - 5lb & 8.3 - Fish are here in quality - though not quantity... |

Hope you can help. (you may have seen the appeal on the messages section)
I am setting up an internet directory hopefully of all clubs in the UK that offer barbel fishing. This will be free to anglers and fishing clubs. The aims of the sight are to help attract fishermen back on to rivers, help clubs attract new members and increase revenue through day tickets as well as enabling anyone wanting to fish a new river to find all the relevant information including in time accomodation and tackle shops. I have the blessing of BFW to post this appeal for help as we all think the two sites will compliment each other very well. Where you can help is with information of any clubs/day ticket/free/syndicate waters you fish. All I need is a Club name and contact number or website address and I will do all the work from there. I realise some may not want to pass on information for fear of their waters suddenly getting inundated with fisherman but I really dont think that will happen. The site will be www.barbelfishinguk.com and should be online in a basic form from next week and then go live fully in Mid May. If you visit the site during this period please be patient with us as we construct the site and gather information. I am sure when completed it will provide a very useful source of information to anyone wanting to catch barbel. Thank you for your help and I look forward to hearing from you. If you wish to email me either use the link in my profile or email me on barbelfishinguk@aol.com Thanks again Tony Farmer |
