I had a couple of short evening sessions,fishing till around 8pm,probably my final barbel sessions for a while before wintering in fenland after the zander and pike.I had five fish including a couple of nines.The river as still up a little but not too much rubbish coming down.

Fished Friday, river back in main channel and 47 degrees. Fished 3 till 8, hit 4 landed 3 at 8lb 10oz, 9lb 6oz and 11lb 6oz. Deep joy.

fished dawn - dusk yesterday, blanked for the 2nd time in a row
 , river was low,clear and dropping.

Fished 3 till 8 yesterday, water 49 degrees and as Bob says, hit 3 but only landed one 5lb er.

4 fish between us, fish splashing all over, Tom had new Pb 5lbs 8 ozs Big Mike

Thanks go to mike for giving me directions to his spot, just nipped 3 medium sized ones out today and lost one more. Lots of leaves in river making it very difficult to hold steady.

fished dawn - dusk again yesterday "07/12/02" ,
river up and carrying a bit of colour (7deg constant) felt pretty confident. but "Shock horror" blanked again, not even a knock , calling it quits till the new year now.

Fished Friday, 2 till 7, water cooling in last few days, down to 46 degrees. Not a touch. Thats it for me now until we get a rise in temperature.
Had a good run through November and early December, no blanks at all but the cold Easterly has put paid to things for a while I think. |

Sadly I have resided myself to the fact that I will not be catching a Barbel on the Trent this year! Lost count of the number of blanks I have had! Hope 2003 is better for me!

You must have been in the wrong spot, at the wrong time with the wrong bait or very unlucky Wharfe. Stick at it, they will come, not at the moment though.
