Nice catch Ray
Fished 9 till 2pm. River perfect to begin with. First cast a clonking 12oz dace ( best this year) then heavy rain started to boil the chosen swim. Lots of twitches and nudges from boris but left frustrated and beaten. It's getting a hablt on this water and I need to up the game plan. I will return.! Graham |

Went over the Loddon at Shinfield on the way to the Kennet this morning and it was absolutely all over the place. Water in the fields as far as the eye can see, cant see where the actual bank was. Anymore over the next day or two & it could be across the road again like last year.
I was hoping to fish it somewhere next week. Mick |

Hi Ray
Five feet sounds an awfull lot of water. I cant imagine it, is that a true measure. No challenge intended, just parts of the Loddon I know would be inaccable at two and a half feet over. And the highest ever over on the Kennet I have seen was only about 3 feet, and that flooded everything. Cheers Dick |

Dick
I always measure the height of the Loddon from the flood marker at the side of the bridge in Hurst. The Banks are very steep there. The River has dropped 2ft over the last 24 hours. Loddon Ray |

River dropped about a foot from Sunday and now back in its banks by 6inches at Twyford.
Fished 2.30pm to 8.45pm. One bite 6.30ish a wonderful fin perfect 12.4 that fought like a river carp rushing downstream in the main flow. Like a coward I followed it and netted it next swim down. Very pleased it came on my own paste mix as the first 3hours with meat/mballs no touches. I'm not getting many but of the last 6, 3 have been 12+ and one 9.14. Graham |

Thanks Muckers.
Not so good today but there were a few fish around the swim. A few indications but nothing more than a 2 inch pull. Big and crafty they are! Back to being a Blanker! |

Re: loddon | ||

a 5lber, very silver and a tad slimy as if it had been laid up in the weed for a while. One other pull.
Who was the other BFW poster who had a chat with the BS representative in the Car park? Ray? |

Fished the Loddon on the Barnet stretch today. Air temp 13c, water 10c. River at a normal winter level. Plenty of evidence that it had been up about 2 feet in the week. Loads of silty deposits along the bank & platforms. Pre baited 5 swims in close proximity of one another.
Had a beautiful 4lb 15oz chub @ 14:30 & a superb 8lb 9oz boris @ 16:30. A very pleasant afternoons fishing. the barbel put up a fantastic fight & I had a lot of trouble getting him up off the bottom. Feel really good about it ! Flavoured meat accounted for both. They were the only two bites in a 5 hr sesh. Two other smaller barbel came out. Mick |
