fished the clyde the otherday for maxibar started at the weir at cambslange and fed it with small bits of bread (black rye ) the maxibar seem too come on to it more than any other i have tried it sinks to the bottom real fast so avoiding the dacenroach wich hoard round the swim ,i was ther 20min when it happend wallop over went the rod iam up and at it in a heart beat she dived to the right to get under a log that sits tight in to the weir wall she new wat todo all right then the game begins waite to see who gives first my heart beat or the line my rod by this time is bent side on with as much strain as youd chance the force of the water coming under the log allowed the maxibar to get a good hold we were like this for a good 5min when i felt a slight give in the rod that gave me my chance to make my move a straight lift upwards and she was mine as the give onthe rod indecated to me that she was ready for round two not this time sweet heart isad to my self and with a few hard turns of the reel she was in the net and in too the keep net for a rest and one for my self,i have caught her many times before.this time she came in at 10lbs4oz just right so she was looked over one more time and then sent back to get ready for the next time so it was of to my other swim i wont say wether it was up or down river this swim is fristly no easy to get too so its littel fished you have to get down on the hands and knees to get close enough to see if they are ther even in the swim (the times i have got ther and nothing, but its worth it)ther are usualy about between 6too 9 maxis in the swim this time ther are four of themthe biggest that ican see must be about 15lbs so i slide back from the edge to plan my attack .the plan was simple hook lenth 12inch behind swivel to size 10 drennan SP,four inch above hook 2aa shot ,baite the bread with a small cube of salami (bought at local garage) so with a gentel lob i bounce the baite down to them nothing on the first pass or the third so i stop and slid back from the bank and thought wat next, sod it i said i set up the hook with just the salami with no shot and lob it in down it went slow slow to just the right spot as ther under the grasses was this redgill fin just showing how i saw it is beyond me but ther it is and i manage to work with luck and move the baite down too the bizzend and it is inhaled and stike at the same time ,its over fairly quickly he gave in with out a fight of his size (16lb2oz0 pers best)after that it was time too go home looking for wards to seeing him again (hopefully hell fight this time)...
