I have been using Meaty marine groundbait from dynamite baits. Does anyone know a cheaper alternative? at £5.99/£6.99 a tin it is getting a bit expensive.

I add crumb, crushed hemp and an additive to mine, makes it go a lot further.

Why not buy in bulk from a bait supplier, eg, Trent Baits, et al.
Ok it's not Dynamite but I bet it's just as effective and a damn sight cheaper. Ian Windsor Barbel Catchers

Hi, I use Dynermite halibut ground bait (the one that comes in a bag ) Can't remember the price, but works ok for me.

The Dynamite Halibut groundbait is usually £3.65 for a kilo bag. I used to buy it, but now just use ground-up halibuts bought in bulk - much cheaper, and seems to work just as well.

Ive always mixed it in with my other ground bait (a mixture of different fishmeal products) and it gives a good smell to it although smelling it does over power the halibut, whether it does in the water aswell i dont know.

Hinders Blitz Multi Mix £24.99 (£2.50 a kilo) for 10 Kilos. Meat & Fishmeal based groundbait. Your only drawback if you dont live local is the postage. If you are using the Dynamite Boilies, just add 50-100ml of matching Dynamite liquid flavouring per kilo of multi mix.

I received my 2 tubs of halibut and 2 tubs of barbel groundbait today from Dragon. Upon first inspection it appears as though they all smell exactly the same
Will have another check once I get back home - and if my suspicions are true I will be sending them back for a refund! |

What I've seen of the Meaty Marine groudbait, it seems mostly bread crumb based to me...bugger paying that price for bread crumb I say! Crushed pellet or scalded pellet would be the way I'd go. Add bread crumb to bulk if required and liquid flavours of choice. Bucket full for same or less money! Daz. |
