Thats not much money to spend, i think ron thompson do a barbel rod, and in all truth ive not picked it up, however they do good beachcasters and spinning rods, he may want to look on ebay see if he can pick up a bargain
Hope that helps |

Wychwood Rouges are in that price bracket, good build and will get the job done. Look here

here is another deal on wychwood rogues ,they're a good standard rod and would be a good choice . I can also recommend the pentera barbel rods from dragoncarp (i have a pair) they have been a great rod ,they come with three tops a three tip quiver , a 1.5lb tc top And a 1,75lb tc top.never let me down (had my only double figure barbel on one) been great ,with only 6oz leads +pva bags making them work hard in heavy floodwater.but in normal conditions have been great ,style wise they're not as slim as more expensive rods but look great with their abrieviated handles apart from that they look the same as any far eastern made rods.
![]() and only £39 from Here would make a ideal occasional rod. steve

Probably not. Us work-shy, dole-scrounging non-catchers have to get bed early so they can go fishing in the morning when the real contributors to our society are hard (doubtful, not in recent memory) at work. After all, someone has to do it. Hi, James. Good to see back on BFW. Loved the vaguely threatening personal messages that you sent me a few weeks back, on your last visit to these boards. Been fishing lately? |
