Aidan,
The best advice I could possibly offer is to keep typing Harrison Rod into ebay search, quite a few Chimera 2's coming up at the moment, probably people upgrading to the new Torrix, I have had 2 now for £95 and £112 like new which I have passed on to mates for the same money, you need to look lots and be patient, it will be the best buy you ever made for around the £100 mark. There is one on there now for £125 buy it now but you can pick up cheaper like I said. Ian. |

Used my Prodigy (12ft 1.5 3 piece) for the first time yesterday and although I'm no expert on rods it felt fantastic playing a 7lb'er after the cheap feeder and barbel rods i've used previously.
It's unfair for me to comment on the Berkley but you won't be disappointed with the Greys. Cheers Al |

I'd agree re the Chimera. I managed to get a couple off ebay new for 60 and 80 quid respectively. Best money I ever spent tackle-wise.
The greys do look good. But if you use a Harrison I doubt you would want to try anything else. Their Triptych is my bread and butter barbel rod - it is superb (and at £70 off ebay, another good cyber-purchase). Good luck whichever rod you decide to go for. |

I got to agree with the Harrison. I got a Chimera 3 of EBay (£130), what a rod, I've been using it to chuck 6oz+ feeders on a flooded Ribble over the last week. The blank is awesome & would probably stop a train but its still got all the sensitivity of a rod of 1.5lb...whats all that about? I love it so much I've asked Dave Lumb if he will build me a rod to the same spec on a Chimera 2 blank..... I can't wait to get my mitts on that one.
BTW: If anyone lives in the Lancashire area, I've got a couple of Good condition Fox Barbel Rods(1 Special & 1 Plus) for sale. MSG me if your interested and can collect. |

Had my greys prodigy 1.75 for 2 seasons now. Tamed big fish in big floods and caught a few 'twitchers' in the summer on the quiver. Money well spent.

Same here - had the Prodigy's 1.75tc 2 piece for over 2 seasons now and been very happy with them. Very good value for money. Even though I'm thinking about upgrading I will still keep the Prodigys for my son.
