Preferably not 'real tree' or some such, but not 'Krystoff Pike Float' style either. Ideally want 'bib and brace' with room for fleece/thermals underneath for winter, but cool enough for summer use. Jacket with detachable lining would be nice too. As cheap as poss! Any ideas? Does anyone have any feedback they would care to share about the 'RON THOMPSON THERMAL SPECIMEN TWO PIECE SUIT JACKET AND BIB & BRACE '? Cheers

I have been continually let down by most of the clothing I have bought over the years. In my opinion it is just cheap @#%$. There may on occasion be the odd thing that does what it says it should, for most part however, my experience suggests it doesn't. Now, for my fishing clothing, I get everything from climbing/mountaineering shops. I do have a pair of Whitewater Outdoors trousers that have done the job up 'til now, and admittedly I did get them from a tackle shop, ultimately though, that is hunting gear from the states I believe. I bought one a couple of seasons ago and have found it one of the most useful bits of clothing I have ever bought. When folded it fits in a reel bag and lives in my bum buddy during the summer ready for those summer storms. During the winter it lives in a pocket in my rod bag. Since I bought it I have used it as a blanket, a ground sheet, a shelter, a cover for the boot of the car after a muddy trip and even on occasions as a poncho. When its filthy and thick with mud you can chuck it in the washing machine or just let it dry and knock the mud off. Not a bad buy for a tenner.

For summer, just go for the light stuff from the likes of Peter Storm, from Millets. It's 100% w'proof, breathable and folds up to nought. Some fantastic winter garb can be had at TK Max, proper cold and wet weather garb, for knock down prices.

Alternativley, you could try here: www.premiersurplus.co.uk/ For £50, I had a new/unused lightweight british army waterproof and breathable suite from them which lasted me through the winter, just made sure i had plenty of fleece underneath. Its absolutely spot on. Warm,Breathable,waterproof and extremely comfortable. But for Summer fishing I agree with Damian. Go to your nearest Outdoor clothing shop.Either Milletts,Blacks or somewhere similar. I bought a dark green lightweight suit made by "Peter Storm". It consists of a Shortish jacket with fold away hood.Two large pockets and two inner pockets. The bottoms are basic waterproof leggings with Two pockets. Both items are lightweight and breathable and you can easily fold them up and keep them in your Rucksack or carryall.I bought these last summer and they`ve been brilliant.A bargain at 25 quid.

All good stuff as well. It was a post Christmas special offer, so don;t know if the same deal can be had, but its worth checking...
