This season i have been useing the Enterprise snag safe lead clips on my free running rigs.(in Snaggy areas) Do you think these are best ones for the job or would you recommand something else ??? Would like to hear your points of veiw on this topic becouse there are a lot of people with a great deal of experience on this site. Tight Lines and Happy Barbel Fishing.Nigel

Posts: 2995 (04/03/07 11:55) andy davies administrator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I actually prefer the new ones, but I cut the swivels off from all my leads which makes them a doddle to use. I use them nearly all the time. What I will say though is that I have never had one release a lead (old or new versions) when I am playing a fish, the mechanics just dont work on a running rig. If that is what you are aiming for then the only option is to use one of the semi-fixed type safety clips, and preferably one which the swivel locks into. The best ones for releasing the lead are the ESP ones without a doubt, they have a little peg which you push through the swivel eye. Trouble with these ones is I found when casting any distance with 3oz plus leads, they can release the lead on impact with the water. In this case I go for the Armaled ones, but am very carefu with how far I push the tail rubber on! Andy

They are also a nice colour gravelly brown which suits. I found that the enterprise clips used to break too easily for my liking and i now prefer to use power gum with an overhand knot if i'm concerned with snagging. Wurzel

I have been using these for a while now and even the cagey ouse chub have been caught out. ATB, Jon.

The carp alley set up incorporates a rubber bead for the swivel with a small groove in it for the run ring to sit in,this gives the same effect as a bolt rig but is safe as houses as a small amount of pressure releases the ring from the bead.
