Goretex ex-army - have tried a few and like pockets on them (unlike most British Military Goretex Garments).

Personally have German Olive Green trousers in plain green with bracers and a sort of a highish back. Zipped fly and two zippers allow access to inside trouser pockets. Picked two pairs up - brand new at £25 a pair.
For the jacket then it has to be the US Army Goretex parka - two outer pockets, two hidden stash pockets, one sleeve pocket and good copius hood (think it's a so called Cobra type hood). There are also underarm zips for cool control. The second generation types have a fold away hood but I have the 1st Generation (attached hood) type. These jackets are available in either desert or woodland. I paid £40 for one brand new but this was in desert camo. Ebay is a good bet but look for a new one.

As a second then there is always the European (sometimes called French Army Jacket or CEC in Sympatex fabric which is close to Goretex) and these are currently available (I think) from Transworld Surplus at £45 brand new. I also have one of these. I wouldn't get the trousers that accompany the jacket as they have full length leg zips which I don't like. They seem well shielded but prefer the partial zipped or velcro type.

Be careful there are so called waterproof breathable fabrics that don't perform as well as Goretex. There are also cheaper copies of military type jackets which are generally inferior. I would go for Goretex (and maybe Sympatex) everytime but be aware that there are a few types of Goretex fabric. I have a USA Goretex Max4 'Ducks Unlimited' jacket which was bought for me a couple of years back and the fabric seems lighter in weight than the military type. Good jacket though.
