Have had some good results over the years on essential baits products. The shellfish B5 still stands up as a top quality boilie and basemix and takes some beating, whats more, barbel love em. The frozen b5s are worth every penny, just wish they'd do 12mm or 10mm.

The man behind Essential products, Mike Wilmott, knows a serious amount of stuff about bait. I would pit the B5 against any commercially available fishmeal bait. The additives are very carefully considered and at just the right levels.
Although not using it now, I have in the past and would have every confidence in ti again. What I am using now is his savoury meat additive, mixing it in groundbait. Expensive, but abso-bloody-lutely fantastic! Use it as a glug as well. To be old and wise, first you have to be young and stupid!
